Lia's boards rank the people who show up the most. Your steps go on the weekly walkers board, and the friends you bring who stay active count toward the monthly inviters board.
When a board closes, the top places are paid in real $LIA, with the prizes shown in the app before it starts. Only real activity counts, so fake accounts and empty sign ups earn nothing.
